The lamp (in an EMP-33) lasted about 2 years of frequent viewing, about 1800 hours, probably would have gone longer if we had kept our filter clean so it would have been cooler - very easy to change - now where do I go for a mercury lamp disposal site... we use the EMP-33 instead of a TV set, fed by a HDD/DVD tuner/recorder and projecting onto a wall, no big box taking over your room.
