Loaded into a Quantum DLT VS160 drive, a single cartridge can hold up to 160 Gigabytes compressed or 80 GB native. High capacity requires fast transfer. Sony DLTtape VS1 media keeps your backup windows small with 16 Megabytes per second compressed transfer speed (8 MB/sec native). Today's DLT VS160 drives represent the second generation of the DLTtape Value line, which started with DLT VS80 drives. Quantum has charted the future to DLT VS320 drives (320 GB compressed) and DLT VS600 drives (600 GB compressed).
