The adaptors, to be used in pairs at each end of a cable run, allow Cat.5 10 Base T and 100 Base TX data signals to be divided - provided they only use 2 twisted pair to transmit data. By plugging one economizer direct into a wall outlet and another into a patch panel at the other end, one cable run of 4 twisted pair can be used to transmit 2 sets of data signals.
