What is Catalist (GCat)? |
||
| Catalist
(formerly GCat) is a framework agreement with 25 of the UK's leading I.T. suppliers,
negotiated on the Public Sector's behalf by OGCbuying.solutions, an Agency
of the Office of government Commerce.
It is open to all Public Sector organisations, including central and local government, health and education bodies, devolved administrations and police and fire authorities. Using the framework involves signing a simple Customer Access Agreement - it is free to join and there is no obligation to purchase. NHS organisations in England and Wales are already eligible through a joint agreement with PASA (NHSCat-IT), and can access products through NHSNet. Government and the wider Public Sector spent over £400m through GCat and NHSCat-IT last year, and independent price benchmarking activity shows that the scheme is delivering an average price saving in the region of 8%, with further significant savings from reduced processing costs.* If you want to find out more about Catalist, click here to visit our dedicated GCat information website. *OGCbuying.solutions Annual Report & Accounts 2002/03 |
